Control System for Assembly Line

One of the world’s largest automakers, Volkswagen Brazil, selected Altus’ high-performance automation solutions to modernize its assembly lines in the country, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, operational efficiency, and industrial excellence.

The project delivered a robust and scalable control architecture designed to increase production reliability, optimize cycle times, and enhance real-time monitoring across the manufacturing process. By integrating advanced control technologies, the solution supports higher productivity levels while maintaining the strict quality standards required in the automotive industry.

Optimizing the Assembly Line Control System

The project includes the implementation of automated devices at the beginning of the production line to improve efficiency and safety during the installation of components into the engine block. This advanced automation makes operations faster and more precise, while reducing maintenance downtime and significantly increasing quality and process reliability.

As part of the solution, dedicated devices were installed to rotate the engine block, facilitating ergonomic access and simplifying component assembly throughout the line.

The control architecture is built on Altus’ high-performance programmable controllers from the Nexto System and advanced HMIs, ensuring full supervision, real-time monitoring, and precise control of all operational stages. The result is a safer, more efficient, and highly reliable assembly process aligned with the demanding standards of the automotive industry.
