Prediction Maintenance System

Predictive Maintenance System Solution

The system developed for the CBO Guanabara vessel was designed to monitor vibration, temperature, and rotational speed of the bearings in the ship’s gearboxes.

This solution enables continuous data acquisition and online assessment of gearbox wear conditions, supporting predictive maintenance strategies, reducing the risk of unexpected failures, and increasing the operational availability and safety of the vessel.

Predictive Maintenance System for the CBO Guanabara

Altus was selected to develop the Predictive Maintenance System for the CBO Guanabara, a vessel operated by the Companhia Brasileira de Offshore (CBO).

The solution analyzes data collected from critical components, enabling operators to detect wear patterns, identify potential gearbox issues, evaluate the remaining useful life of bearings, and detect misalignment or imbalance conditions.

By leveraging historical data analysis, the system supports failure prediction and proactive maintenance scheduling. This forward-looking approach has strengthened CBO’s maintenance strategy, emphasizing greater efficiency, faster response times, and enhanced operational safety across its fleet.

Remote Supervision System with SCADA/HMI BluePlant

Remote Supervision System with SCADA/HMI BluePlant

This solution builds on the existing Remote Supervision and Predictive Maintenance System onboard the vessel. It uses Altus’s SCADA/HMI BluePlant supervisory software, which consolidates data from electronic units that monitor vibration and temperature. Once collected and processed onboard, this data is sent to CBO’s Operations Base onshore, where the maintenance team can analyze the condition and remaining service life of the monitored equipment.

The Remote Supervision System is designed to meet the key goals of predictive maintenance: maximizing uptime, improving machine reliability, preventing damage escalation, and enhancing the safety of the onboard crew responsible for vessel operations.
