Technology Solutions for BMS and EPMS Systems

Altus was chosen as the technology provider for the automation of infrastructure and energy consumption systems at the data center of one of Brazil's leading banks, reaffirming its expertise in critical solutions for high-availability environments.

Comprehensive Control of the Unit’s Systems and Subsystems

Altus was tasked with supplying the automation equipment for the bank’s new datacenter, where servers and computing equipment are housed. The system oversees the BMS (Building Management System, which handles air conditioning and lighting) and the EPMS (Energy Power Management System, which manages energy consumption). The goal is to maximize energy availability for the servers while minimizing consumption, ensuring the equipment runs in optimal conditions.

With high performance and distributed control capabilities, through compact and low-power remote units, the NX Series PLCs were chosen to compose the application’s control solution.

High availability with NX Series PLCs

To guarantee power supply and proper functioning of the air conditioning system, two NX Series CPUs were selected. In total, there are 40 NX3020 units, two NX3030 units, and 10,000 communication points. This arrangement allowed for greater data storage capacity and information exchange. Furthermore, high-speed data reading was essential. All of this was implemented to ensure that no financial collapse occurs due to machine failures that overheat.
