Urucum Mining DCS

Digital Control System

Altus provided the automation technology for the development of the new Digital Control System for the Urucum Mineração manganese extraction plant, located in Cuiabá.

Urucum Mining DCS for Production Plant

The solution implemented by Altus aims to accurately measure and quantify the total volume and mass of water used in the ore beneficiation process at VALE – Urucum Mineração.

Within this approach, the new system was designed to centralize all information related to water resource use and ore beneficiation, providing greater control, management, and efficiency in water consumption.

The area was instrumented using Motorola communication radios for Ethernet interconnection of the measurement points to the Indusoft Web Studio supervisory system.

Additionally, the programmable controllers used in the project offer enhanced accuracy in measuring the volume of water used in ore processing, providing more detailed insights into the system's real-time operational status.

Scope of the Solution Provided by Altus

The solution provided by Altus covers a wide range of essential equipment and services. It includes a Programmable Controller with the capacity for 512 input/output points, 128k of flash memory, housed in an electrical cabinet. The scope also covers the design and specification of the Programmable Controller panel, along with the MasterTool programming software license.
